The Impetus

Sacred Wandering was developed out of the teachings of love, compassion, understanding, healing, and forgiveness – concepts taught by all the great teachers throughout time, but brought together under one teaching by Jesus of Nazareth – the Christ. Sacred Wandering was therefore created as a ministry process under a Church entity for protection and guidance, as was our original ministry: Gathering in the Center TM.

A living, breathing Church is a ‘process’ seeking to continue the ministry of the Christ, Jesus. It was intended to be much more than an institutionalized entity centered on dogma, doctrine, and rules created to compel the faithful into servitude. But a building is not the ministry of the Christ – it is only a tool through which ministry is conducted. Love, healing, compassion, and showing us the way to the Father was the Christ’s ministry; something lost through the ages to a lust for control and power.

Sacred Wandering seeks to return to the mission entrusted to travelers 2000 years ago.

“Inspired by no earthly ambition, the Church seeks but a solitary goal: to carry forward the work of Christ under the lead of the befriending Spirit. And Christ entered this world to give witness to the truth, to rescue and not to sit in judgment, to serve and not to be served.” (Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World: Gaudium Et Spes; Promulgated by His Holiness Pope Paul VI on December 7, 1965. Boston: Pauline & Media, 1998. Print.)

And so we return, then, to the core teachings left for all people to follow, and begin a process of growth that will help others find peace, love, joy, forgiveness, and happiness.
